Sometimes I say to myself, ‘How quickly time has passed.’ It feels like I just turned 17 yesterday. If I look back, it seems like I haven’t covered much distance, even though it’s been a while. Choosing my favorite cartoon is actually quite challenging. I can’t choose. Each one was unique, and I used to wait for each one separately in front of the television. I would even argue with my mom about it. I think the one I watched the most was Winx. My favorites were Victory Kickoff, Keloğlan, Cille, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Samurai Jack, Johnny Bravo, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and others. People say you’re still young at 17, but I watched Casper, Lucky Luke, Kiko and Stitch, Looney Tunes, all from CDs. There were even times when my mom and I went to buy them together. If I show these to the little ones now, they might be scared. Some were even scared of Keloğlan. How can be frightened of it? But we are a generation that watched Puzzle Tower. If I remember correctly, it was about an experiment during the Holocaust. There were series on Disney Channel, and the only one I remember is Lucy. But I think I liked cartoons more. Doraemon, Kuzco. On Yumurcak TV, Detective Gadget, Heidi, Marsupilami, Stellina. On Minika Go and Minika Çocuk, Kratt Brothers, Mr. Bean, VotVots. On Planet Çocuk, Aydamaya, Mia and Ben. Cartoon Network had the best ones; Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, Total Drama Island, Bakugan. I can’t remember the names of some because they didn’t come to my mind. I miss them, I guess. What I feared the most was Maysa and Bulut on TRT Çocuk, and there was also one with the fox one. I would change the channel out of fear. And there were evening lullaby shows, ‘Eşek senin ağzından fincan mı yapayım?’ I liked them, but the grasshopper that resembled a toad scared me. Even now, I probably haven’t listed all the childhood cartoons I want to write about. Sometimes I wish we could go back to those times. The days when we didn’t see the truths, when everything was at least a bit better, or it seemed that way to us…
